NAMDEVCO
Launches Digital Display Boards at Northern Wholesale Market Macoya
Since the launch of our website www.namistt.com in January 2007, NAMDEVCO is always seeking innova-tive ways of disseminating market information to all stakeholders in the Agri-Food sector. Over the past year, we have disseminated information through:
-
The website www.namistt.com
-
The weekly market report (Market Watch) in the newspapers
-
The monthly newsletter “GreenVine” Information Kiosk (Northern Wholesale Market)
NAMDEVCO recognizes that,
even with these initiatives, relevant information may not be reaching all farmers and consumers. In addition, the website www.namistt.com, may not be accessible by
all producers, consumers and other stakeholders.
As a result, NAMDEVCO has decided
to set up two digital display boards:
- To provide pertinent
Market Information to stakeholders in the Agri-Food Sector To increase consumer
awareness by displaying comparative pricing throughout the country in order to combat
rising food prices
- To promote the
work of the Corporation To provide Public Education and awareness on issues relating
to the Agricultural Sector To promote events in the Agri sector The digital display
boards are located strategically at the Northern Wholesale Market, at the Intersection
of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway and the Macoya Main Road.
- In addition, a smaller
display screen is located inside the Macoya Market to facilitate day to day trading.
This screen displays market information on all commodities traded at the market
on a daily basis. This screen thus far, has demonstrated tangible results by leveling the playing field between farmers and purchasers.
